The Club had two existing batting and bowling ends originally installed by an ECB approved system supplier. A third lane existed for throw downs only. The lanes were both worn out and suffered from uneven bounce. The existing cage was both insecure and failing.
The Club required the facility to be replaced with three new practice lanes on an even plane over a completely artificial grass area. The location was to include the existing facility, but rotated through 90º. The new practice area provides a fully artificial area 38m in length incorporating a protected “coaches/padding up” area at the bowling end, for changing and discussion.
The batting ends are protected by a 21m cage with a full PVC safety skirt together. The entire facility is surrounded by a security fence to protect the area from intrusion.
